Hello
A very interesting inquiry! When I was learning the Atlasprofilax method (Not from Atlasprofilax) my trainer and I discovered that about 25% of the patients were rotated the "other way". I did many corrections on about 600 patients but because I also do the TMJ it soon became overwhelming and I had to defer the corrections until after the patient was a few weeks into their orthodontic/TMJ correction due to time considerations. I soon noticed that many patients who were originally positive for needing the Atlas correction no longer needed it on review. I then decided not to do any correction until the patient was at least 2 or 3 months into treatment. In short the consequence has been that at least 75% of the patients end up not needing the Atlas correction. This percentage is rising as I hardly do any Atlas corrections now. They mostly correct with CORRECT orthodontic interventions. I have seen many patients who had been "screwed" the wrong way round. Atlas correction has to be taken most seriously but unfortunately almost everyone walking into these correction clinics has their neck pummelled. I wrote this in an article some years ago. http://dramir.com/articles.php If you would like me to give you a consultation please follow the procedures on my website. http://dramir.com/info_questionnaire.php - See more at: http://dramir.com/blog/archives/1-Question-received-about-Atlas-treatment.html#sthash.KoHgohMw.dpuf Comment (1)
