Your guide to the quickest way to drastically improve your looks
cerec milling chamber

Imagine a dental practice where you can go and have your new false tooth made and fitted during a single visit and within an hour. This is what CEREC technology by Sirona Dental Systems has made possible.

CEREC is a revolutionary system that enables us to design, fabricate and fit a new porcelain crown veneer, inlay or onlay in a single visit - a procedure that would normally take at least two weeks, if not more!

“Having a tooth that's been broken for a long time fixed in one go painlessly was indeed a relief”

How does this CEREC technology work?

The tooth is prepared in the normal way for a filling, a crown or a veneer.

At this point, instead of using a dental impression material to take an impression of the tooth, a digital image is taken using a special 3D camera.

This image is then converted into a 3D computerised model of your tooth, which is used as a guide to design your new restoration.
Here the image shows a digital image of a filling which has been designed.

Once we are happy with the newly designed tooth, this data is sent to an onsite milling machine, which fabricates your new tooth from a high-quality ceramic block or other suitable material.

The milling process can take anywhere from as little as 6 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the material and complexity of the tooth.
We have the latest CEREC MCXL machine which can mill a crown in as little as 6 minutes.

The milling unit can mill ceramic blocks, e.max blocks, Enamic blocks and Zirconia blocks.
The blocks come in a wide variety of shades and colours, and your tooth will be milled to match your surrounding teeth.

Once the crown or veneer has been milled, it is checked for fit and bite before being stained and glazed in a furnace.

The new restoration is then cemented into place onto your prepared tooth.

Most patients have all their amalgam fillings replaced with tooth coloured, natural looking CEREC restorations vastly improving theitr smiles.

What are the benefits of CEREC?

There are several advantages to having treatment with CEREC over conventional, laboratory-made restorations:

Everything is carried out in a single visit - you only need to visit the dentist once - take one day away from your work or life to have the procedure - instead of the usual two or three visits.

Only one set of local anaesthetic injections - since the entire procedure can be carried out within the hour, you only need to have one lot of injections.

We are in complete control of the final result - since the crown or veneer is designed and fabricated from start to finish we have total control over how it will look and fit, whereas a crown made in a laboratory is under the control of the technician who hasn't even seen the patient. The fit is also far superior than conventionally made restorations.

No temporary restorations - if you have lab-made veneers, you would require temporary veneers during the wait for your new teeth. These have been known to fall off and cause problems, which is a step that is omitted with CEREC restorations.

How much does CEREC cost?

You would probably think that restorations made with this state-of-the-art technology would cost a lot more than standard lab-made veneers and crowns. However, there is often very little - if any - difference in price, because you only need one appointment with the dentist and there are no laboratory fees to incorporate into the price of your treatment. CEREC fillings or crowns can vary in price from as little as £380 up to £700+ per tooth.

We also provide the most exquisite IPS e.max crowns

Pressed EMAXEmax

IPS e.max has become the industry standard material for metal-free, all-ceramic restorations. IPS e.max provides unmatched strength (360 - 400 MPa flexural strength) and versatility.

We are fully equipped to provide an in house service with a turn around time of only 3 days.

Pressed e.max Crowns

Pressed full contour all-ceramic crowns provide you the best choice for strong, metal free, and highly aesthetic restorations.

The high translucency lithium disilicate material allows natural tooth colour to show through and picks up chameleon effects from the prep and adjacent teeth.

Full-Contour Zirconia Crowns

Zirconia Crown

Recent advances in the field of CAD/CAM design have opened a new door in the field of dentistry. This advanced technology, teamed with the high strength of zirconia are creating beautiful, strong, and highly accurate restorations. We have an in-house Zirconia sintering furnace and CAD/CAM equipment to complete the work with a one week turn around time.

Full-contour zirconia crowns are the strongest, most fracture resistant, tooth colored restorations in dentistry today. When a full-cast gold crown is contraindicated due to colour, zirconia is an excellent replacement.

Layered Zirconia Crowns

Layered zirconia restorations are aesthetically exceptional and have shown a lower failure and fracture rate than either metal-ceramic or metal-free ceramic restorations. We offer zirconia bridges, splinted single units, and free standing single unit crowns.
